The saddest thing in life is wasted potential.
You were born with brilliance that you’re meant to bring to life.
Perhaps you’ve lost touch with what gifts your Soul is trying to manifest. Maybe you have become so immersed in the details and demands of your life that you no longer can contact the voice of your spirit that calls for fulfillment.
How much time and energy do you dedicate to your dreams?
We spend so much time spinning around, doing for others and “taking care of business” that we neglect to invest energy into ourselves.
Many people feel something is missing. Or they have a clue about what they want and no idea of where to begin. When you’re stuck begin with 2 simple questions:
What brings you joy? What would feel good to do right now?
In order to uncover and take steps towards your passion start by reigniting and fanning the flames of your spirit. Through self-honoring you receive the essential nutrients you need to feel alive. Then your passion and purpose organically reveal themselves.
Saying things out loud to another builds commitment. So share in the comments area- What will you do today to rekindle your precious Soul?
Let’s dare to be ourselves, for we do that better than anyone else.- Shirley Briggs

I believe some people can listen to this and all of a sudden then they need try things in a big bang way or a fast way. I think sometimes some people find a new career which is fine do it if that is what your dream is. Some people have a dream of opening up flower shop well then take a class on it or work at a shop for free or start on the bottom to learn the aspect of this dream. For me its the small things as you know I want to sell the house and move out of this city and I have been in this city for 11 years and the fear is so great about leaving for the first time in my life. I found that putting things we no longer need in a box or a bag to give to Good will is helping me with my dream to get out of this city this house so I have to get rid of a lot of things I dont need to bring with me to get the house ready for selling. I am cleaning out my bins to make room and covering holes on the wall to get ready to paint. Painting for me is my passion I am not an artist but painting is a stress relief for me and I love it. I am trying to get the next stage of my future. I love to take photos and love music love to dance I am a kick ass dancer and love to cook so during all this I am trying to incorporate all this with the small things that will create my canvas to the next painting in my life. Hope this all makes sense!
Lisa I cant agree wtih you more, I too am in the process of selling my home. I have been so bogged down with everything, I no longer know which way is up. But your comment makes perfectsense, and it is always a great feelingknowing that I am no the only one going throuh the bins of what to keep and what can go to someone who really needs it. As my Father use to say t me, “If in doubt, throw it out.” Salvation Army does pick up here and thy are arriving tomorrow to pick up all of my unwanted goods, so another thing I dont have to worry about is finding a way to get things to them. Thank you for your comment, Lisa
This makes complete sense Lisa. And I know exactly what you mean! Part of the problem is that we can think too big and overwhelm ourselves. Or assume we should have the whole picture instead of a hazy map that we’re working off of. So if we just start feeding our souls with something simple, delicious and nourishing we start to come alive. It’s voice becomes stronger and clearer through all of those things you said and then we find purpose and meaning. In both the smaller things like cooking and dancing. And sometimes in the larger things like raising a family and building a career. You go girl! Dance and paint your little heart out till you’re filled with fiery aliveness! You’re a shining star. Live that way!
Vanessa,
I really want to thank you. I loved this little segment that I read today and I am motivated enough right now tocomplete my living room, i expect all of my unwanted goods to be out of there by 4p, and then a nice visit withmy son in his new apartment. Feeling a bit more energized, thanks to you.
You are so welcome Dawn. Moving is such a good analogy for many things in life! You can even be looking forward to what the change brings and yet still daily feel more bogged down by the details than excited about what is to come. As both you and Lisa are noticing it’s about reframing how you look at the little things, making things smaller and more digestible, and shifting into modes where you find as much joy and gratitude in where you are at currently as possible. Good luck with the purge! And thanks for sharing.
I completely agree with all this dreamscaping! My grandfather Zev Wolfe Goldberg, of blessed memory, a survivor of 2 World Wars and 9 years in the Communist Gulag, always had a wide smile on his face, an inspiring being, lived until 93 years, had a dream of building a fashion house and having that catwalk experience. He was a tailor/designer with talent of which I have yet to see, makes Galliano’s Dior line seem ordinary. Everytime he spoke of his wish for him and I to start our thing, My Grandmother would say, please, stop dreaming. He would always turn to me with a smile, and say What do I have to live for if not my dreams? I believe dreaming and striving towards those dreams whether they are big or small is essential! On the moving thing, its so great to make a physical move which encourages a spiritual, mental shift! in Judaism, there is a saying “M’shana Makom, M’shana Mazal” when you change your physical location, you change your destiny. I believe this can be physical shift, like a move from one place to another, or a mental shift, and even changing bedrooms. I think the energy in my house is not flowing efficiently or energetically through the space, I feel inspired to make the Master Bedroom into a communal Children’s room. Consolidate my children’s bedroom into one and create a space for an Au Pair to occupy…Dreaming? Perhaps….but I’m working on it being a strong well experienced reality, wherein which I feel will allow for more realized dreams come true! More support for my photography pursuits…maybe I can have that treehouse on the ocean, one day?
That’s beautiful Esther. Thanks so much for sharing. Reminds me of the idea “what are we without our dreams?” And I love that saying! I’ve always believed that while “wherever you go there you are” is true there are places in this world that speak to our Soul, and moments where we need a fresh start to welcome in transformation and newness. May you be blessed with more flow, more photography and ocean front views!!! Now get out there and make it happen sweet lady.
very inspiring
Don’t ask what the world needs.
Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it.
Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.

True That! Makes me want to jump up and exacavate the daunting piles of collected projects… reassemble the impeding obstacles so that they actually allow flow and movement…and keep smiling at the dreams with which I can create happiness, and encourage momentum to strive toward!
Thank you, Vanessa, Lisa, Dawn…I believe we have Reignited each other!
Yes Esther!!! Isn’t it amazing how a little contact with like-minded people can be so uplifting and inspiring. There is a quote by unknown that I love “you lift me and I’ll lift you and together we’ll ascend.” But I do believe it should go beyond words when possible. None of us live near one another but perhaps when you see a friend struggling you can help them clean out their home. You can help them write a curriculum vitae. You can ask for someone to come over and make the time fly by when you need to cook a soup that will nourish your health goals. Truly- Isolation is the dream killer. It’s heartbreaking when I watch how many people let go of what brings them alive because they cannot see support mirrored in their environment. Let’s start by taking steps towards our dreams and doing all we can to help others around us do the same! Thanks for sharing ladies. How beautiful.
Let’s start a dreamy, ascending commune with Vanessa as our fearless leader! something to dream about…
Ms. Esther you can do that today girl. Forget having me as your leader, have me as your fellow path walker. Just come alive, feed your Soul and let’s play together. From all my therapy one thing came out- I just want us all to be the creative, fabulous beings we were meant to be so that there were more people in the party with me. So bring your photographic, ethereal self to the fore and let’s get this party started.
