This week’s video log is about Self-Love.

The greatest source of self-imposed suffering I’ve ever experienced was the belief that I was unlovable.

This festering story cause people to contort, hide, shrink and agonize.

It doesn’t have to be this way.

Below is a blog post from Paulo Coehlo expressing beautifully the senselessness of the self-condemnation bubble.

I would love to hear from you on this deeply personal topic. Do you know you’re lovable?

“When we plant a rose seed in the earth, we notice it is small, but we do not criticize it as “rootless and stemless.”
‘We treat it as a seed, giving it the water and nourishment required of a seed.

“When it first shoots up out of the earth, we don’t condemn it as immature and underdeveloped, nor do we criticize the buds for not being open when they appear. ‘We stand in wonder at the process taking place, and give the plant the care it needs at each stage of its development.

“The rose is a rose from the time it is a seed to the time it dies. Within it, at all times, it contains its whole potential.
‘It seems to be constantly in the process of change: Yet at each state, at each moment, it is perfectly all right as it is.

“A flower is not better when it blooms than when it is merely a bud; at each stage it is the same thing — a flower in the process of expressing its potential.”

What if comfort comes at the direct expense of growth?

Many times we make choices based on what is comfortable. Yet comfort also typically implies no challenge. Unfortunately though challenge and growth seem to be inextricably linked!

The question of the week: How often in your life are you choosing what feels safe, over what helps you expand?

One of my clients posed the question: Isn’t the goal to be able to be happy in any environment? While I believe that we all could learn to experience more joy and connection now through some simple mindfulness skills I also know that certain environments are more nourishing to our Soul than others.

The essential question is when do we take action and when do we find acceptance?

To answer this question you must reconnect with your inner voice that lets you know what you truly need and where your Ego personality is blocking your from drinking in the goodness around you.

Tip of the day: The key is to slow down and listen to your inner voice 3 times per day.

I would love to hear from you. What are the things you should change that you’ve been stalling on? And what requires you make peace with it so that you can breathe more freely with where you are?

The saddest thing in life is wasted potential.

You were born with brilliance that you’re meant to bring to life.

Perhaps you’ve lost touch with what gifts your Soul is trying to manifest. Maybe you have become so immersed in the details and demands of your life that you no longer can contact the voice of your spirit that calls for fulfillment.

How much time and energy do you dedicate to your dreams?

We spend so much time spinning around, doing for others and “taking care of business” that we neglect to invest energy into ourselves.

Many people feel something is missing. Or they have a clue about what they want and no idea of where to begin. When you’re stuck begin with 2 simple questions:

What brings you joy? What would feel good to do right now?

In order to uncover and take steps towards your passion start by reigniting and fanning the flames of your spirit. Through self-honoring you receive the essential nutrients you need to feel alive. Then your passion and purpose organically reveal themselves.

Everyone can Change. You can Change your life in brilliant ways if you desire. However sometimes you get stuck, overwhelmed or confused about how to take steps to move yourself forward.

The first step in creating transformation in your life is acknowledging that you have the power to change.

Owning that you are an agent of change opens more possibilities. It liberates you from the incapacitating victim stance that creates a sense of constraint and prevents movement.

We always have a choice- even if we don’t like the ones that are available to us. When you become accountable for the life that you have, and the life that you want, things just naturally begin to shift. You have more of a sense of empowerment and freedom. More lightness. And the opportunities that were hidden from your sight begin to appear before your very eyes.

Tip of the day: Wake up to the areas where you’ve been playing victim and keeping yourself stuck.

I would love to hear from you. Where are you keeping yourself stuck? And what can you commit to doing to break free?

The number one thing holding you back from transforming your life, or yourself, is Fear. Whether it be fear of the unknown, of losing control, of rejection, of failure or even of success, your fears can become stumbling blocks to living the life you were meant to live.

Fear is natural. It is our way of discerning what path is right for us.

However, our anxieties and “What If…?” stories can quickly overwhelm, confuse or paralyze us. In order to get yourself moving on the path towards your calling you need to learn to face the fears and move anyway.

Fearlessness is not the absence of fear. It’s moving beyond fear.

When you feel the fear stories crowding in on you loaded with all their future-related worries you can ask yourself an important question to Reignite your Fire to continue on.

What’s it costing you not to take that step?

I would love to hear from you. Please take a moment to face your fears head-on and write below what it’s costing you to stay where you are and what you could gain by moving forward.
